Signs of the times?

"Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority, show disrespect for elders and they chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants and not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room, contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers."

The above are not the words of some harassed modern parent in 1961 but were spoken by Socrates in the 5th Century, B. C. Maybe things don't change as much as we think they do. From the Hiliner Herald, October 19, 1960.
