Norma Delores Egstrom from Wimbeldon, North Dakota, was named "Peggy Lee" by Ken Kennedy at WDAY Radio in Fargo, back in the 1930s. However, she got her start singing in Valley City, both on the stage at variouis social functions, and on the air, at Bob Ingstad's KOVC. The Barnes County Historical Society Museum on Central Avenue has quite a collection of Peggy Lee memorabilia and clothing. (CLICK ON PICTURES FOR LARGER IMAGES).
Outfits Peggy Lee wore on stage, from New York City to Hollywood.
Some old vinyl by the singer who has been called "the female Frank Sinatra."
These items on display, along with many more, at the Barnes County Historial Society Museum, Wes Anderson, curator.

In Jamestown, we particularly love Peggy Lee, as she was born here! Her childhood years here were not pleasant, however, as she had a wicked stepmother. Her dad was with the railroad, so he was transferred around the area and the little town of Wimbledon is now doing a wonderful job of setting up a museum type thing in Peggy's honor.
