Thanks for all your thanks!

Your Blogmeister thanks the entire 1961 reunion committee for the wonderful Rolls Royce model featuring a working AM radio, presented to me by our Chair, Barb (Sheppard) Lang at the Class of 1961 dinner in Valley City on July 9th, 2010. This is a classic, as you can see by the photo below. I understand LouVay (Ruemler) White found this excellent little car at a local antique store in Valley City--it's a keepsake that now occupies a prominent place in my den at home, right near the computer where I produce the Hiliners61 blog. We worked closely with Colleen (Bryngelson) Zick (VH '61) and Bonnie Cink Ness (VH '65) in getting material from the Dario archive onto the blog this year. Thanks to both of them and other Dario Car Hops and staff for their assistance and thanks also to Bonnie for the keepsake booklet she presented me with (in photo) at that July 9th dinner. MC'd by Bonnie, Barb (Sheppard) Lang, Marleen (Pytlik) Miller, myself and others presented anecdotes at the "Dario Reunion" held on Friday afternoon at the Barnes County Historical Museum. We all appreciated the opportunity to share our memories with the Dario gang. this classic drive-in was definitely part of our "American Grafitti" days when we were growing-up in Valley City. "Hi-Ho, The Dario!" Thanks also to all of the attendees at the 1961 dinner who signed the booklet, shown above. I will cherish your comments forever - Larry Gauper, August 21, 2010
