In the Valley City (ND) Rally Days Parade and Car Show, a number of our classmates provided some cool cars and, to serve as a "float" carrying classmates, a pick-up bearing our Class of 61 signs. Here are a few photos, provided by Denny Gillund and shot by his '62 classmate spouse, Barb (Rome) Gillund. Our thanks go out to Barb for the photography and to Denny for submitting the photos below:
Classmate Dave Maasjo provided the pickup that Denny Gillund is driving, and he also modified previous banners so they could be displayed again during this, our 61st reunion. Classmates are riding inside the pickup and in the box. Classmate Barry Borg provided the cool steps so that, according to our Chair, Barb (Sheppard) Lang, "the ladies could step up onto the pickup."

That's our newsletter editor and all-around Comm Committee worker, Diane (Sauer) Hughes waving our Class of 1961 flag while riding in Dave Maasjo's very cool Mustang convertible. Dave is driving. In the back seat is Maureen (Pedersen) Young and Barb (Sheppard) Lang along with the flag waver!
Wow! This is a beautiful 1957 Ford Convertible, fully restored by Stan Orness and his staff of vintage car restorers. A group of good-looking 61er ladies are riding in the back! Stan is driving. And here's another eye-popper guaranteed to attract girls. It's Dave Johnson's Mustang. He's driving and waving the 61er's flag. John Manstrom, they tell me, is riding inside. Oh, if some of us could have had this kind of vehicle when we were back in high school. Just imagine it, guys!
