A couple of photos submitted by George Gratz, St. Kates, '61, that were taken with Bobby Vee at the "Hospice Concert" in Columbus, Indiana, on Labor Day weekend, 2004. Your blogmeister thinks that top photo is George telling Bobby how to sing (just kidding! But they do look like they're having a pretty serious conversation. Maybe George can enlighten us in the comments section below). And the second photo shows Sharon, George's spouse, Bobby, and, of course, George. Laughable!!!
I was telling Booby Vee that I recall he was making eyes at the cute VC girls while playing at our sock hops in the Armory. Boby Vee seemed genuinely interested in talking with someone who knew a little about his past and before he was famous.
In case you happen to check this comments section, George - I am bringing to the reunion an autographed glossy 8 x 10 of Bobby Vee and the Shadows that I received when the group visited our record department at the furniture store in Valley, probably in 1959. They were all pretty cute for sure. No grey hair.
