Two of us 61er's enjoyed an afternoon coffee visit with classmate Gary Skramstad at his new residence in the Elim Care Center in Fargo on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. The "two" were classmates Tom Kahler and me, Larry Gauper. Gary moved in recently from St. Raphael's, formerly the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. and he guided us on a tour of this extensive and quite amazing new facility. Elim provides comfortable residences for any of us "getting on" in years and they also offer physical therapy services as well as complete skilled nursing care. This one level new structure, which replaces the building extensively damaged by fire about three years ago. It is a completely new structure with state-of-the-art electronic capabilities, a chapel, and a number of alcoves and rooms for meeting and visiting. It was good to see Gary again, who has attended a number of our "lunch bunch" gatherings, and being Elim is not far from where JoAnne and I live in south Fargo, I expect to stop in now and then for a visit, just as Tom Kahler and I enjoy a weekly coffee chat at Panera Bread in Fargo.
