True Halloween story from Barnes County Historical Museum!

Wes Anderson (photo above), Curator of the Barnes County Historical Musem, sent us this true Halloween story (Ed. note: think of a dark and story night, just after midnight..actually, I don't think it was stormy, but it was dark, I imagine):
"Hey, everyone, just in time for the seasonal festivities a tale of the not so much paranormal but abnormal for you....not so much for me. Monday night, well, really, early early Tuesday morning (Oct 22-23, 2010) at 12:30 a.m. the alarm at the Barnes County Museum went off calling me down where I met two of Valley City's finest at the door. We went in to see what the matter was but found nothing though the front motion detector had been activated. Well, what it turned out to be was our experience worker had hung up some full-size paper skeletons for Halloween and when the heat kicked in it made their feet kick up a dance that set off the motion detector. I performed an exorcism then and there (i.e., took em down) for fear of being called out of my slumbers in my footy-pajamas and bunny slippers again."  - Wes
Thanks, Wes! Wise wearing those "footy PJs," needed in North Dakota! And thanks to Diane (Sauer) Hughes for the photo. Diane writes: "I obtained Wes's photo this summer when I donated a copy of the book my siblings and I wrote about growing-up on the farm. We published the book in March and my oldest brother, Kermit, died at 82, in May."

And to all our classmates, a very happy Halloween!  Don't eat too much candy!  Hey, if the Wes's story doesn't scare you, the photo BELOW will! - der Blogmeister

Hey Larry, I believe Wes was referring to his "Experience Worker" perhaps. You know, a senior citizen, like you and me!
Wes, I love the story and hope you are still displaying the skeletons, although in a different location!

Haha..hey, Barb...Wes had "experience worker" in his original text and I added the "d" to experience. I suppose it works either way but I went back to his orignal text now, "experience" worker.

Translation: does that mean "geezer" like me? Or perhaps a kinder way of saying "senior citizen." Actually, I'm just glad to be around so people can call me something. :-)

Yeah, an "Experience Works" person is an old geezer like us. what would museums do without them????
